Do you know how to draw?
Well you know what, if you’re making stencils it’s not that important. I took some drawing classes in the past and more recently at the OCAD (Ontario College of Art) but honestly you can be the worst drawer and make great stencils. That’s a nice thing about stencils. Being creative here not necessarily means being good at drawing. If you have good digital skills you can make crazy stuffs.
You can work from a photo you find online, apply a simple effect in Photoshop or any other graphic software and start from there. Which makes stencils a very accessible hobby, DIY activity for all.
Let’s take an example.
You know this girl? La Joconde AKA Mona Lisa by Da Vinci right.
