My daughter is getting married.

I have mixed emotions.  She very techy, can preserve food, run a household, a cook, a very good cleaner, was offered a UPS job, taught home education high school subjects for me, à piano technician, has two bachelor of science degrees from bible college.  Can paint the inside of a house, do business paperwork for taxes, worked in our home business; The Auto Haven.  Think she is ready for marriage?  She is 35.  And I have always told my young adults, learn as many skills as possible and if your job lays you off, look at it as a project finished.  Not as a career.  I wish I could keep her.  What a help she has been to the family!

She is going to make soap today as one of my sons is allergic to Irish Spring.  She knows her Essential oils because she never made enough money for Obamacare.  She was forced to study alternative medicine to keep healthy.  I wish young people would stop playing games and study.  Àpprentice opportunities to their maximum advantage.  Stop marching for their rights and start making their rights.

Her husband has worked very hard at his skill of being an electrician.  He was apprenticed so he doesn’t have the huge college debt.  They are looking at a house; as he has saved enough to buy perhaps one debt-free.  His boss is very good to him and his feeling is mutual.  He is 33.  They have never dated nor had a date, nor kissed.  They will be saving their first kiss for the altar.  As I have said they both kept themselves very busy in preparation of their marriage and marriage in general. As a parent I am able to let go, no controls.  This is what I have prepared her for her whole life.  Both of us give our blessing.  God has met with her and has given her the desires of her heart!  I am humbled that this is the path she wants.

I am Learning to Blog and Starting Over

I am not doing it well, I am not doing it right.  Learning all the symbols to put things just right will be a challenge.  Loving the English language enough to treat it to the adventure of blogging will be delightful.

Someone invested in my family by giving each person an android tablet.  He said it was a deal he couldn’t refuse.  He bought eight for $25.00 a piece.  We were speechless.  It would take a techy person to meet a need like this!

My family is not illiterate concerning the computer by any means.  It’s just that we only have one.  But to have a tablet I can call my very own, is wonderful!  Now I can be a learner of techy stuff.

To those who I have made contact once upon a time, I have downsized to better myself and be a mannerly, better responsible blogger.  You don’t have to wait for me.  I’ll catch up!  And I still love to see what my favorite artists are doing.

Steadtler karat + derwent blender pen

Beautiful

julie's passion for coloring

Mixed Media Music Collage

This is why I haven’t been blogging for awhile.  My girls and I had a wonderful time.  The table pile high with supplies, barely having a flat surface to work.  Finally ending up with these pieces after everything was cleaned up.

Experimenting with Encaustic Art

Love, love, love the your article. And the learner’s spirit!!!

Hi there! How are you? We have been pretty good over here. Enjoying the beautiful Spring blossoms everywhere and the more frequent sun breaks too!

Maybe it’s the Spring energy or the fact that I’ve started the second part to the Brené Brown online class but I’m feeling inspired! I have been wanting to try encaustic art forever but I’ve always been a bit intimidated by all that comes with it.

Well…this week I finally dove right in! I ordered my encaustic medium, a heated palette (mini griddle), hake brushes, encaustic boards and a heat gun. While waiting for it all, I devoured this book and watched every youtube video on encaustic that I could find.  Yesterday, it all arrived on my doorstep and I was like a kid at Christmas! All smiles, clapping my hands and doing a little jig. I was that excited. Dorky but…
